Eighth edition of the Space Alliance magazine

The eighth edition of the Space Alliance magazine - addressing the English language readers of our website, is ready.

This edition is focused on the Rosetta mission, its activation after the long hibernation period and the arrival at destination in August, a unique event in the history of space exploration - the first flight around a comet nucleus.


Secondary, the magazine is coming with the latest news about the status of the Space X activities and their first 2014 flight - with the second GEO satellite transferred to orbit by the American company.


We also have a look to the debut of 2014 for some other launch services providers - among them Orbital Sciences Corporation, Arianespace and International Launch Services.


We then turn our attention to Turksat 4A - a new telecommunication satellite launched by the Turkish operator Turksat and continue with a fresh new navigation platform - the fifth GPS 2F block satellite.


Finally, a new astronomical discovery comes to the pages of this edition - water vapors observed around the dwarf planet Ceres by the Herschel telescope - the first unambiguous detection of water vapors around an object in the asteroid belt.
